Maria Furtado has been a member of the Mosaico Tax team since 2022, advising on international tax matters, global mobility, and tax issues involving non-residents in Brazil.
A qualified lawyer in Brazil (OAB/MS 32.305), she holds a LLB from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) and a double degree from the University of Camerino, Italy, which provided her with a comparative understanding of the Brazilian and European legal and tax systems. She is currently undertaking a postgraduate specialisation in Tax Law at PUC-RS.
Maria is a member of the Tax Committee of ABEMMI (Brazilian Association of Migration and International Mobility Specialists), where she keeps abreast of developments in international taxation and global mobility.
She also attended the Summer ELSA Law School in Kraków, Poland, specialising in International Tax Law, with a particular focus on double taxation, international tax treaties, and OECD guidelines. In addition, she regularly contributes articles on Brazilian and international taxation.
At Mosaico Tax, Maria is responsible for the initial assessment of client matters, directing clients to the appropriate specialist advisory services, and preparing tax returns and technical opinions. Her work combines technical expertise, strategic insight, and international experience, enabling her to deliver tailored, high-quality tax solutions.
